Hello from Cambridge USA!

Post by beau » Sat Nov 03, 2018 3:59 pm

Hi All!

My nickname/artist name is Beáú and I am joining this forum to interact with the classical guitar community and to get good advices to start navigating this world. I am French, grew in Paris, but now live in the US in Cambridge. I have been playing guitar for 15 years, self taught. I mainly played electric guitar but after a 5 years gap, three years ago, I got excited again by starting to learn finger style on folk metal string guitar. I have now an acoustic folk project where I sing my original songs (influences are nick drake, Tim Buckley, serge Gainsbourg, Bert jansh,..). My recent interest in playing Argentinian pieces, and my steady classical music influences, made me willing to move toward the nylon string world. I am now learning (or willing to) pieces by Astor piazzola, villadangos, narciso saul, ... and looking forward to discover more!

Cheers,

Beáú

Welcome. I was a resident of Cambridge while in graduate school at Harvard. It’s a lovely place with lots of energy. Be inspired and enjoy the classical guitar. You may want to begin with some easier pieces!
But, enjoy!
