Hi from Oz

Post by keychange » Thu Dec 27, 2018 11:25 pm

Hi my name is Andrew and I live near Dorrigo near the east coast of Australia. I am 65 years old and I played guitar since is was 13. My first classical guitar was a wedding gift from my wife, 42 years ago - an Admira Malaga and I still have it.

I play many different styles and gradually accumulated a collection. I realised many years ago that in the 1960's and 70's the Japanese were obsessed with developing a reputation for quality products, be it cars, motorcycles or guitars. My current collection numbers around 15 and is focused on guitars of that era and includes, Aria, Takeharu, Takamine, Yamaha and my latest purchase a Terada. I have folk, LP, Casino, jazz but my main focus is classical. A lovely 1969 Yamaha G170A, a Takeharu GT200 and a Terada GU 2535.

I am self taught and I use Tab rather than notation. I love the works of Tarrega and I am still trying to master some and have given up on others, my hands aren't the best. I have three sons and they all play, it is fun when we get together. I look forward to sharing with you.
