Hello from Florida

Post by Richard Bosten » Tue Jan 22, 2019 2:33 am

Hello to all the fellow guitar enthusiast. I have been playing guitar off and on for around 30 yrs. I mostly played rock , blues and popular music.
I played the trumpet through middle school . I have studied some music theory years ago. My musical taste run pretty broad these days. I listen all sorts of music. I just got my classical guitar a week and a half ago and it has really impressed me. I was trying to play some classical scores on a folk style guitar while i was waiting for my cordoba c-5 to get here. So far the only classical piece i can play through is study in c (tarrega) . I did use tab for that but it is the last time. I am able to read the music but its slow going for now. I think it should start to get easier after a modest amount of time/work. MY goal is to be able to site read at a reasonable level. My right hand is already getting used to strings. My nails are almost at a good length i think. My thumb nail is sort of short because i cut it wrong. I did get some nail files so i will see what i can shape up.
I have tons of questions already in my head so im sure i will be posting and reading often.

Welcome to Delcamp!

If you haven't already, please take a moment to read this page for a good rundown on how the forum works, rules, history, etc. You have found a great source of classical guitar knowledge, as we have a wide assortment of members, from beginners to performing artists, with a number of fine teachers, historians, and luthiers. So feel free to ask any questions you might have, but consider using the search function first, as many topics have already been discussed at length.

If you participate in other online forums, you might notice that things can occasionally get rather heated. We work hard to keep that from happening on Delcamp. Please read Mssr. Delcamp’s thoughts on the subject.

Please note that there is a requirement to post an average of once a month. Members not meeting this standard may have their memberships terminated.

Adding your location to your profile is a nice touch. Many of us have made new friends from doing just that.

Again, welcome to the forum!

Regards,
