Very nice Tate. I have this Nuttall book but haven't looked at it in a while. Thanks for reintroducing it to me. I'm wondering if you're playing the guitar you decided not to sell. I came by your place to try it out when it was for sale. Enjoy the sunshine today and happy new year.
Hi Amy - thanks for the comments! I do remember that! A lot has changed since then:
1. I cut off my fingernails
2. I did a new setup on the guitar (plays much easier now)
3. The guitar made the trip to VA and back TWICE to get reviewed by Joseph and have some nagging hairline cracks repaired in the wenge back and sides.
4. I've also been experimenting a lot with different string materials, even real gut. This recording was made with Aquila Perla's which are made from a plant based sort of nylon.
These strings haven't been my favorite as of yet but they are passable - the gut really sounds wonderful on this guitar, especially playing without nails. And yes, this Nuttall book is great - it seems like every single piece has some catchy melodies.
How is the New World Player sounding? I remember it sounding great when you checked out this Redman.
