Turovsky, Roman - Romance for Baroque Lute - Video

Post by RobMacKillop » Wed Jan 23, 2019 11:10 am

Roman Turovsky has a few alter egos, a family of composers under the surname, Sautscheck - which I misspelled at the start off the video. Apologies to him for that.

This is one of his more simple pieces, a Romance. The score is available for free on his website: http://torban.org/images/romance.pdf

Indeed it is, Bernard. I think, though, that more people would play his music if it was also available in standard notation.

...and I always thought that lutenists read tablature fluently.
Most of the works on Roman Turovski's site are written for Baroque lute or Renaissance lute, some for theorbo.

Well, I can read it fluently, but I was thinking of guitarists on this forum and elsewhere.

They certainly can. Glad you like it. There is no substitute, so you'll just have to buy one, Chris!
