Anon. - Star of the County Down, Irish folk song

Post by David McHarg » Mon Sep 27, 2010 3:10 pm

Hi,

This is a recent recording of a little irish folk song called "Star of The County Down". This is one of many small pieces i have found on this site, many thanks to the member who posted the score for this. I really love these short little celtic pieces as they are so much fun to play. Still a few little mistakes and things to practice but i thought i would share anyway. Lately i have been trying to focus on the clarity of my tone/sound and in this one i tried to really make the trebles sing. I think i need to up the tempo a little but that will come with more practice i hope :-)

This was recorded with Edirol R09HR and Rohan Lowe guitar.
Anyway hope you enjoy.

:bravo: :bravo:
Thank you David, what a beautiful song and a great performance.
I think that you are doing a wonderful job making your trebles sing. :okok: If you've been working to clarify your tone, well you've certainly achieved it.
Thank you for recording this for me, I'm going to put it on my desktop and have it handy to listen to it.
:merci:

Very nice recording! This piece reminds me of ol' John Duarte, a fine composer who never got his just due!

Thanks for sharing this. Nice playing. I also have found this great arrangement on the site and have been meaning to give it a go. Your recording will really help me with that.

David, you play that beautifully. :bravo: I don't know if I can ever learn to play it as beautifully as you do but it is an example to aspire to.
