Bach's Goldberg Variations transcribed by József Eötvös

Post by Brooke Martin » Sat Nov 10, 2018 3:11 pm

In the "Goldberg Variations" transcribed by József Eötvös, a few variations have two guitar lines, while others have just one. Does anyone know why there are two lines for some of the variations and the aria?

Update: I see the answer in the introduction:

"For a clearer reading it has sometimes been necessary to use two staves."

Goes to show that one should read introductions and not just rush in to the music. :)
