Well done Tom!Tom Wimsatt wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:03 amHere's my first attempt at Valse opus 59. A work in progress. .. Tempo is slow at this point, some of the fingering was tricky for me.
Charles, I watched all your posts, vert nice playing.
once again very well done.Tom Wimsatt wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:24 amHere are the two remaining exercises. The extensions exercise really highlights weakness with my index finger (cranked wrist) and pinky finger (extreme angle of fingers relative to fretboard
Thanks Lucian! The extensions were tough. I think I'm going to keep working on those, in moderation, throughout the year (if my hand can tolerate it).Lucian Bistreanu wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 5:23 pmonce again very well done.Tom Wimsatt wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:24 amHere are the two remaining exercises. Charles, I suppose that your Damp post will qualify for the purpose of taking the exam. I just was not sure if you were aware or not about the moving hand. That is the reason I made the observation so you can take action or notCharles Cook wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 8:06 pmLucian - This what I like the best about participating in the forum's lessons. Not only are you drawn to learn from your own videos, but it is also very helpful to have others make these kinds of observations. I, in fact, was not aware that I was moving my RH so much. I'll try to post another video soon with this correction.

Lucian, great job with extensions. The angle of your left hand relative to the fretboard and wrist angle looked really good. I keep turning my hand to get better leverage. I've been trying to relax my fingers while doing this exercise so my finger muscles don't tire, and in hopes it will ease finger movements (the pre-bending motions Ed mentioned previously) and to improve overall form (actually, efficiency I guess). I'm betting you'll closely match Jean Francois Delcamp's form (and perhaps faster), after you get a little more practice time.
Thank you Tom. Maybe it looked good but sounded badTom Wimsatt wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 2:21 amLucian, great job with extensions.
