I've just re-read the "rules and conditions" and noticed this line

"When a student has obtained his diploma at a particular level, he cannot resit the exam at the same level."

Is it a new addition or is it that I merely failed to see it last year?
The reason I am asking is that I was considering re-doing Level D06, but in view of this provision I should probably opt for D07.
Hi Maria. It is a new rule in this course. There is a long story about that, but the matter has been definitively clarified in Professor Delcamp's rules for this course that now begins.

In any case, whether you repeat D06 or if you decide to start D07, the thread will be the same. :)

It is not allowed to take the exam of a level that you have already passed, but it is not forbidden to record pieces of that level and publish them again.

The rule has been there for a number of years, it’s there to stop people retaking to improve a marking. However, it has been clarified recently, as Jesús says, to make it clear that it is only if you have obtained a diploma; if you have not been awarded a diploma you may resit.
Do join D07 and don’t worry if you need to take 2 yrs before taking the exam, just be sure you are ready.

Thank you, Collin, thank you. Jesus.
So in all probability I'll join the D07, but the very first work, the Bach piece, demonstrates to me quite clearly that I won't be able to cope with the course in one year. Anyway, I'll do my best.

Hi Maria.

I think Bach's prelude is not so hard. The biggest difficulty is that it is quite long. But it is not necessary to play it very fast. I believe that this Prelude is closely related to the Introduction of the St. Matthew Passion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU1S32AQ3Uo ; both pieces have the same measure: 12/8. Played at that speed, the Prelude does not have too complicated positions for the guitar.
