If You Were to Choose Another Instrument to Dedicate Yourself to What Would it be?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

I'm another one in the 'cello camp, may yet take it up. I used to double on winds (flute/sax) and often wish I had taken up the trumpet instead.

drums. or piano.
I played the oboe when I was a kid. If I would have chosen, guitar, piano, or percussion back then, I might not have had a 25 year gap in my musical career.

I love instruments so much I couldn't possibly narrow it down to one. I want to try a brass instrument, but they are so loud there's little chance of me trying a trumpet. I'd also love to try the violin. But a badly played violin is one of the worst things to put other people through!

This has been my only forum affiliation since 2007. I don't claim exclusive rights to the name, though, so you must be thinking of someone else.

Congratulations, Michael! Lucky you! Have fun exploring Messrs Bach, Scarlatti, Rameau, Couperin et al. For my part, unfortunately, I'll have to wait 'til my next life to learn a keyboard instrument.

It's a very small harpsichord, as in a spinet. Won't make any difference to me. Hmm. I think those lot will all have to wait until after I've mastered twinkle. I don't know what the harpsichord equivalent of twinkle is. Must be one.

An unusual coincidence. You share the username with a guy on a german recorder forum!

If you're at that stage, Michael, maybe this will help: http://www.elverhoj.org/archives/JeanNa ... ichord.pdf
Here you'll find "Twinkle" and a lot more, and in a few weeks' time you'll be playing like Scott Ross for sure!

Ooooh, harpsichord! I hadn’t thought of that. That would be my vote!

Piano. I actually did exclusively devote myself to it for a few years when I was having nail problems and it was great. I love the piano, but I couldn't stay away from the guitar.
