What's the last concert you bought tickets to?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

"Balsam Range" at Glad Tidings Church in Morehead City, NC, on March 15th. That's about an hour and a half drive. I had already bought tickets to see them in Albemarle....which is about a five hour drive.....on March 16th, when their webpage was updated......and the Morehead City concert was posted. OH WELL??? I don't mind seeing them two nights in a row! .....and all the proceeds from the sale of the March 15th concert goes towards funding Alzheimer's research. :)

I went to see Pablo Sainz Villegas in Beijing last October. He played pieces from his "Americano" album, which included works from composers from North and South America. It was a wonderful experience.

Yenne Lee in Philadelphia - I was pleasantly surprised by her arrangements popular pieces for CG.

I just bought tickets to, "The Carolina in the Fall" festival, in Wilkesboro, NC, on Sept. 20 & 21. It is hosted by The Kruger Brothers. Artists signed up now include: Kruger Brothers, Balsam Range, Chatham Co. Line, Terry Baucom, Presley Barker (....this young boy is a phenomenal flatpicker ), and others. sI had tickets last year, but didn't go because it was the weekend after Hurricane Florence, and I had lots of debris to clean up.

I just bought tickets to hear Jason Vieaux and Anne Akiko Meyers perform in April in Ridgewood NJ. I hadn't originally planned on going since the concert falls on the Sunday of the Masters golf tournament...the closest thing I have to a religious holiday. And I have heard Jason play a lot. But I've never heard her, and they are doing one of my favorites (Piazzola's Histoire du Tango), so I gave in. I can probably get home just in time to see the final holes played!

I just bought tickets to Merlefest. www.merlefest.org
There probably won't be a single classical guitar there, but there will be a lot of good guitar players......and mandolin players......and fiddle players.....and banjo players.....and upright bass players....and dobro players.......
It is a four-day music festival on the campus of Wilkes County Community College, held in memory of Merle Watson, who was Doc Watson's son.

We went to see the Carol Gasser Quartet courtesy of Lostwithiel Jazz Café on Friday night. Man that lady can play (sax)! The whole quartet is great. It was a fabulous night!

Carol Gasser played sax in the Ivy Benson All Girls Band in her teens.

No guitars . . . . but you can't have everything!

Willie Nelson & Allison Krauss, Greensboro Coliseum, Saturday, August 17th.
I've seen Allison Krauss several times, but have never seen Willie Nelson live.
