I may try this again. I went back to 2.0 for fingering, but if the custom options are now working in 3.0.3 I'll give it a shot.

Looks like style properties are saving correctly now.

Installed Musescore 3.0 (latest version) on my iMac a few weeks ago. Great program, thank you!! Will help me a lot in learning music notation.

I just downloaded this piece that I want to learn https://musescore.com/user/17012451/scores/4677486 and need to slow down the tempo. I edited the tempo value, the value changed, however the tempo did not. I was able to edit the note pitches with no problems so the file is editable to some degree.

Any help appreciated!

First, go up to the "View" menu and make sure that "Inspector" is checkmarked.

If it is, when you click on the tempo text to edit it, you should see this thing on the right side of the application...
MS Inspector.jpg

Down at the bottom is the Tempo Text setting. If Follow Text is checkmarked, the playback tempo will follow whatever is typed in. If its not, the Tempo scrollbox below becomes active and you can set the tempo in there.

If that isn't what's happening...I haven't a clue!

Go to the View Menu. Select Play Panel. The middle slider is for tempo.

Hi Martin, "Follow text" under Tempo Text was un- checked, that's why it was not working! It's good now, thanks!

Hi Frank, Your way works too to change tempo with "Follow text"/ Tempo text un-checked. I wonder why this "Follow text" choice is provided?

Is this really free software?

I see it's GPL'ed, so I'm guessing that means the source code should be available somewhere? If so I'd interested to see if I can build it against my local Qt 5.9 and other dependencies (= from MacPorts). Would that be possible?

Version 3.1 was released today. Really amazing version (more flexible automatic placement eg, and news features, Half/Double duration, edition of fretboard diagrams really improved etc.)
