From the Repertoire of Saint Kabir :

Bada hua to kya hua, jaise ped khajoor/
Panthi ko chaaya nahin, phal laage ati door//

Meaning in English:
So what ? If you are big and tall just like a date tree/
No shade for travelers, fruit is so high and hard to reach//

( Saint Kabir intends to convey that greatness is useless if One fails to offer his service to common man)
My heart is wood
My heart is hollow
My heart can play only solo

pequeñas canciones de una pequeña ave
( Little Songs of A Little Bird )

As much sky a bird aspired/
That much sky she got/
I sang perched on dead branch/
So singing wood I got//

May my voice always find/
Her sweet tongue in thy strings/
May in thee my soul dove find/
Her only sky, her only wings//

I born out of soil/
I'll die toiling unto it/
As long as you hold my hand/
I'll fly, I'll sing my wit//

From shining Sharps and Naturals/
I pick straws for me/
With falling Flats my heart arise/
I weave a nest for me//

I need not a fish to eat/
Nor I need some seed/
My hungry thirsty soul craves/
For a musical feed//

It Throbs For You, Guitarra

I pinched my heart, I minced my heart, I burnt it over fire/
It resurrects listening song of you, no wonder to admire//

I cudgelled it, I muzzled it, I nailed it down to ground/
Listening thine sweet call, it moans and howls as hound//

I stinged it with nettle leaves, I fed it up on jimson weed/
Oh Guitarra! It throbs and murmurs, thine rosary bead//
My heart is wood
My heart is hollow
My heart can play only solo

Dear Friends,
Jimson weed/ thornapple is a poisonous plant well known for its stupifying effect on mind usually of permanent nature. Jimson weed is called dhatura/ kanak in Sanskrit and Hindi. Gold is also known as 'kanak' in Sanskrit/ Hindi. Let me share a very old two line verse about 'kanak' which is considered not less than a gem in Hindi literature.

Kanak kanak te sau guni madakta adhikay/
Ya khaye bauray jay, ya paye .bauray //

** first kanak refers to gold and second kanak refers to thornapple.

Meaning of above verse in English:

Kanak (gold) is hundred times more narcotic/psychotropic substance than kanak( thornapple)/
One kanak (thornapple) induces stuper on eating it , other one's (gold's) mere possession is sufficient to induce its maddening effect//

Note: For me my CG is my 'kanak' (Gold as well as jimson weed).

Imprisoned within the wooden walls, behind the nylon bars/
I'm serving my life-term in it, counting musical stars//
counting musical stars, writing my poetic words to you/
Not a single verse in return, not a cuckoo's coo//
My heart is wood
My heart is hollow
My heart can play only solo

Guitarra Zhuangzi - I

The moment that lies between you and me
The moment in which lies you and me
Is about to last in a moment
For moment last in a moment only

The love that I had in my heart for you
The love that you held in thy belly for me
No more belong to same hollows Guitarra
For love has been bartered for love only

Eloquence of my nails and finger tips
Sound of strings and song of lips
Are pebbles tossed in to pond of silence
For want of splish and splash only

As four quarters make one whole
So you and me are petty one soul
Walking wandering on the way
In everlasting realm of Tao only

Guitarra Zhuangzi - II

He exclaimed
“Oh Guitarra! How sad?
You have no eyes to see
Nor any ear to hear
Your mouth is too round to lip songs
You often gasp for air, I fear”
Driven by his own sense of duty
He flayed her virtues, unaware of fey
Out of love that stemmed from craziness
He bored a hole in her bosom each day
Two for eyes, two for ears
Two as nostrils to help her breath
On seventh day he finally chiseled
A fine mouth beneath
Devoid of virtues of her true nature
How she could sing any more
He too could not bear her silence
He could not live more
:( :( :sorride:
My heart is wood
My heart is hollow
My heart can play only solo

Thanks for the honour, smsy! And I can certainly relate to those last two lines of verse. The avatar itself was actually designed by a former Delcamper, 'Flameproof'.

Salute to 'Flameproof' too.
Many thanks to you '60moo' for information regarding genesis of flying bird avtar.

As birds can fly by virtue of wings/
Delcampers fly when Guitarra sings//

Thanks.

Guitarra Zhuangzi - III

“Guitarra, I am making progress!”
“What progress? What do you mean?”
“I have forgotten names of Composers
That’s the good news, that I mean”
“Names are names, and not their wit
Well forgotten, but you haven’t got it”

“Guitarra, now I am making progress!”
“What progress? What do you mean?”
“I have forgotten all Compositions
That’s the good news, that I mean”
“Melodies may soothe or mince bit by bit
Well forgotten, but you haven’t got it”

“Guitarra, I am really making progress!”
“What progress? What do you mean?”
“I sloughed my body, I dimmed my wit
Loosing me in thee, as a flame I lit”
“As a flame you lit, as a flame I lit
As long as we are two, we haven’t got it”

Guitarra Zhuangzi -IV

In the game of the name
In the quest for the fame
You lost nothing
But yourself and Guitarra

By mastering art of owning
By skill of reckless groping
You got everything
At cost of yourself and Guitarra

To please that high Heavens
To appease this down Earth
You compromised often
With yourself and Guitarra

Now close your eyes
Return to non-action
In the realm of Tao
Dwell yourself and Guitarra
My heart is wood
My heart is hollow
My heart can play only solo

Guitarra Zhuangzi - V

When she was a dumb wood trunk
She never knew, she would be Guitarra
When she is happily singing songs with us
She never knows what she would be next
This is as natural as anything else
Transformation of one form into another

When we were flying bits and ashes
We never knew we would be Guitarrista
Now we happily sing and sob with her
We never know what we might be next
This is as natural as anything else
Transformation of one form into another

Both Guitarra and Guitarrista
Flow from one form to another
In dimensions of time and destiny
Meet precisely for limited moments
Who knows when would they meet again
Frolicking from one form to another

Dear Friends,
I hope you must have enjoyed some different colour/ ideas in this series of poems titled 'Guitarra Zhuangzi I-V' . Zhuangzi refers to compilation of philosophical ideas and parables of Chinese philosopher Chuang Tzu.
I do not wish to extend this series further. I hope you would condone my limitations of language and understanding.
Goodbye

Without some kind of interaction with you it is often very difficult to phrase a new song/poem or to think about some other subject for new poems/songs. A idea helps to develop another creative idea. A new song is always somewhere somehow related of some other songs. your vital contributions are necessary for continuation of this thread .
