What music are you listening to right now?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

We are stitting in Tuscany with storm and heavy rain. Wilhelm Kempff plays Bach. What a beautiful way to escape nasty weather.

Today I received an old CD with name "Aire y Candela" from the guitar duo De Madera. According to the CD "De Madera's music is an amalgamation of many influences, ranging from Flamenco-influenced styles and Latin guitar to Caribbean salsa, merengue, samba, and incorporating many Afro-Cuban rhythms. Very recommended!

This morning I listened to a concert of James Kline with his arch harp guitar. This guitar has 19 (11+8) strings! After the concert James showed me the switches that he invented for the 8 strings that are used to switch a string to a higher note. Maybe a similar technique could be used for a standard classical guitar to toggle the bass string between E and D?

I'm listening to me struggling with Sakura.
Whether it's music yet is debatable, but it's definitely better than it was yesterday!

A cd by the husband & wife duo, "8 Cuerdas." Sarah Cullins singing soprano, and Daniel Gaviria on classical guitar. We heard them tonight at River Dunes, part of the "Recitals on the River" series by the Pamlico Musical Society. They are amazing! ....of course, the setting....the Harbor Club at River Dunes, overlooking the harbor........and a couple of glasses of merlot didn't hurt either. :)

I have been listening...live....to Balsam Range’s, “Art of Music Festival.” It was mostly bluegrass, but one of the original Celtic Women, Chloe Agnew, performed with The Atlanta Pops Orchestra. We were center stage, seven rows from the front. 🙂

Anything that spotify throws at me. Amazing how will they know what music I like, even if my taste is very diverse.

piano sonatas by Dussek and Hummel, more Hummel than Dussek at the moment
planning to listen to the piano concertos of Martinu since I liked his string quartets.
been on a ragtime binge, mainly the "Joplin school" composers.

plus, of course, Hilary Hahn's latest Bach recording.

Right now I listen to Baden Powell and his CD Seresta Brasileira, one of my favorite CDs to relax :-)
