What music are you listening to right now?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

A cd I bought the other day......"If You Can't Stand the Heat," by the bluegrass band, "Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen." They performed at the Old Theater in Oriental Saturday night. This was the final performance of the 2018-2019 season for the Pamlico Musical Society, and it was a good concert. I sat next to a lady who told me that she was a retired school teacher.....I think she said from Pittsburgh???......and her, "claim to fame" was, that she had been Allison Krauss's high school math teacher.
Oriental is a 'retirement town.' It's on the water, and real estate USED TO BE reasonably priced. Sailing is popular.....there are more sailboats within the town limits than there are residents. A majority of members of the musical society are retired.....and from up north.

I'm having a Rush-fest. I have about 7 CDs on rotation in the car (yes, I still have CDs and can still play them in my car!).

A CD by Slava and Leonard Grigoryan titled "This Time". It contains duo guitar compositions by Leonard, Ralph Towner, Shaun Rigney, Luke Howard, Nigel Westlake, William Lovelady and the late Philip Houghton. I bought it at a recital by Slava Grigoryan and his wife Sharon (on cello) last Saturday and absolutely love it.
The recital incidentally was held in a early 19th Century house which has a ball room that can seat about 80 guests. The tickets cost about US$50 and you get a glass of champagne and some nibbles on arrival, a coffee and cake at interval and a thoroughly enjoyable evening all round. I also had the privilege of speaking briefly with the performers after the recital. I saw Xufei Yang perform there a couple of years ago.

...Aaaaand Claudio Arrau playing Bach's third Partita in A minor. I think his playing is superior to Gould's breakneck speed:
