We are battened down, waiting for hurricane Florence to crawl away from NC. Forecast is continued rain and flooding.

wonderful weather in Brussels with 28 C. degrees, but probably the last warm and sunny day of the summer season. Temperatures are announced to considerably drop and first autumn storm expected for the weekend.

Rain after a heavy thunderstorm, and lots of small tree branches scattered on the roads.

Uff, I'm originally from Brasil but I came to the US for college and it's getting pretty cold. I didn't really pack accordingly so I didn't bring a blanket haha. Guess I'm going to meet Winter with all it's might pretty soon.

I was in Aberystwyth on Sunday. It's a pretty little town on the Welsh coast. Unless the weather is drizzly and grey, as it was on Sunday. It could only be described as'drear.'

This is the view from the hotel. The line along the bottom is a haha. And the white spots on the hills are, of course, sheep.
When we drove back on Monday, it was a completely different world! The sun had come out!

We're in the middle of a Hell-rousing thunderstorm! A few minutes ago, it got an eerie yellowish glow outside, as the early morning sun shone off the thunderstorm. Now it's as black as night, and the wind is howling and it's thundering and lightening, and pouring rain.

Rain, rain, rain, and more rain. Today it rains the whole day here in Ko Samui.I will go to the SPA for a Thai massage later, enjoy the delicious Asian food, and practice a new song on my travel guitar.
Here the view from my house:

I feel like you're teasing us Northerners with that beautiful weather.

No, no, the weather isn't sooo good as it sounds, just see my previous post above. It is still off season (rainy season) here in Ko Samui and there are only a few guests in the hotel. During the first two days there was a lot of rain, and now it's sunny with clouds and some rain drops every day. I like it to be in a tropical area when there are some rain showers. I remeber, a few years ago I was hiking in the jungle in Colombia to the lost city (ciudad perdida), and we had a lot of rain and muddy dirt trails. It started to rain heavily every day at about 2 or 3 pm and continued until we went into our huts. I really enjoyed this, the Indians living in the jungle ignored it, but some members of my hiking group complained about the daily rain. I think a rain forest without rain is like a forest without trees. 8)

Ugh, you're right. That sounds horrible.

Meanwhile, across the ocean just a few miles away...
