I just finished some buckwheat pancakes with sugar-free syrup. Buckwheat pancakes are not that good to me :( but I read that they are low glycemic index. I hadn't had pancakes in a while. Usually I put chopped pecans, apple & raisins in them, which give them some flavor. ...... this morning I was lazy and didn't.

Sweet potatoes (yams in the USA????) have a lower GI than ordinary potatoes.
And of all the wholemeal pastas I've tried, spelt is the best.

I have decided that they are just not worth the painful wind
Apparently if lentils are soaked in water [and the water changed several times] for two years,

well, maybe overnight or a day; one only experiences a slight breeze.
I think your digestive system adjusts after a while if you eat them regularly...

We call them sweet potatoes here where I live. They're grown a few miles west of here, where the land is more sandy. I bought a bushel of "Covington" sweet potatoes from a farmer around the first of the year, and they were a really good flavor.

Just finished lunch. My wife and I split a two-way seafood basket, with fried shrimp & scallops, and grilled asparagus.... with a slice of raspberry white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. :)

Just finished lunch....a shrimp cocktail. It’s an appetizer, but it is enough for a meal.....(8) large shrimp served with cocktail sauce.🙂

My Grandad was a health 'nut' as it were - he swore by daily doses of fruit and the darker the better he said. This is in the day before we knew about antioxidants. Black grapes were his favourite. He lived to 97. That and oatmeal every morning for breakfast.

It was supposed to be a bacon and tomato omelette with mixed bean salad in vinaigrette, but the frying pan stuck, so it became bacon and tomato scrambled eggs.

I just finished breakfast. I made a shrimp omelet with Alfredo & sharp cheddar. It's a good way to use a few leftover shrimp.

Best omelette I ever ate was a black* shrimp omelette in Brussels.

* tiny little dark-coloured shrimp about half the size of your little fingernail. And hundreds of them.

Baked Acorn squash filled with sweet Italian Sausage. Homemade pasta on the side, aglio olio. Leftovers from supper. Still pretty good!
