What are you currently reading?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

Wolfgang Hildesheimer "Mozart" - a very thoroughly researched biography.
Music is a big continent with different landscapes and corners. Some of them I do visit frequently, some from time to time and some I know from hearsay only ...

»Letters from London« (German translation) by Julian Barnes.
He's a renowned English author, who wrote a column about typical English (not British!) behaviour, institutions and politics for the »New Yorker«.
Starting 1990 up to 1995. Funny, but also appaling (esp. Margaret Thatcher using the same filthy WWII-polemics in 1991 that lead to Brexit over 25 years later - and to her bounce). Even though I'm European, there are many details that I didn't know before.

Beautiful Boy. A sobering read about a parent’s journey through his son’s drug addiction.

first published in 1962 but observations fit 2018 and beyond nicely....

The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.

I just finished Enlightenment Now by Steven Pinker which was pretty good - Bill Gates gives book recommendations on his website and they are usually decent.
