Today, at the age of 42, I won the 2nd prize in the first round of the EGTA amateur guitarist competition in the Netherlands.
I was awarded a score of 8.7 out of 10, playing Brouwer's El Decameron Negro part 1 and Kruisbrink's Bagatelle 2 (required piece). I never expected this because I made some silly mistakes because of a trembling left hand combined with a fake nail on the a finger.
My teacher deserves a HUGE "thank you" for this!
I witnessed the performance of today's winner and he was amazing, way out of my league. He played a fantastic Villa-Lobos and J.S. Bach.
This 2nd price gives me a ticket to the finale and I am so happy with the opportunity to play for a 'large' audience.
Ok, these were my 5 minutes of fame,
Last Saturday I won the 2nd prize in the first
round of the EGTA competition again
This time I was awarded 20.6 out of 25 points, and I am very happy with the result and the progress I seem to have made over the last two years.
De Falla - Homenaje
Merlin - Evocacion
Walton - Bagatelle 3 Alla Cubana
Like 2 years ago, the winner of the first round was amazing.
