Replacing just E6, A5, D4

Post by philcan » Thu Dec 13, 2018 2:49 pm

Hi guys,

you've probably experienced the same thing. If you practise or play a bit more, bass strings lose their sound sooner than trebles. And if you want to "restore" the shiny sound of your guitar, you just need to replace E6, A5, D4 because trebles can be fine (and clean) for a long time. Is it possible to buy just e.g. Savarez E6, A5, D4?
Thank you

Yes, probably your trebles are still fine at about every other bass change, for most players

check them though by sliding your nails across them to see for possible bites ;)

SBM is my preferred place to get strings... I regularly order sets of bass or trebles... I also mix and match to see what they sound like

I order extra D strings as well, since they are thinner and tend to break earlier than the 5th and 6th.

Strings by Mail also has certain sets that come with two sets of basses, sets with extra D strings, treble only, and bass only half sets. And also many strings available as singles.
