New site with baroque guitar transcriptions

Hello everybody,

I'm launching a website with transcriptions of baroque music for the classical guitar.
I think there is the need for new music in the guitar repertoire and the baroque period offers many beautiful works that have not been played yet.
Most of us are familiar with the works of Bach or Weiss, but there are works of many other composers that can be played with success in the classical guitar.

I have started with works by E. G. Baron and J. Pachelbel but many other composers will be added soon.

The scores can be bought and downloaded as a PDF file, there are free samples as well

If you download and play any of the works on the website, upload a video on youtube.com and let me know, I'll be glad to post it on the site and I'll give you an extra freebie score!

I hope you'll find them useful!

The website is:

http://www.baroqueguitarscores.com/

Cheers!

Update!

There are now two works by G. P. Telemann available for download:

-Grave & Vivace from Fantasia II for flute TWV 40:3
-Fantasia VI in E minor TWV 40:19

These two pieces work great on the guitar and I'm sure they will make a nice addition to your repertoire. :)

I'll be uploading more works and more composers soon, so if you like baroque music be sure to check the site out!

Cheers!

The site would not be complete without works by Johann Sebastian Bach!

Four movements of Bach's Suite BWV 820 are now a available for download. This keyboard suite, originally in F Major has been transposed and arranged for guitar in the key of G Major.

More works by Bach will be added soon.

Cheers!

Noticed something on your site...

Under scores, your pic of Telemann is actually huge.

1,389px × 1,391px (scaled to 150px × 149px)

Don't scale down large images by specifying pixel dimensions in code. That pic is over a meg. a 150 pixel image should be a few K at most.

Hi Jose!

I've bought the Baron suites from your site and I must say that I am very fond of them.
I had played one ot them in a minor before (score from the David Grimes baroque collection).
Your edition is very clear, the fingering helps a lot. Highly recommended for all lovers of baroque music.
You've named it "Volume I" , so I hope there will be a volume II also...

A new work by J. S. Bach has been added to the site. :)

3 Menuets from Suite BWV822 are now online.
Original key G minor, my version is in A minor. Beautiful music and not hard to play.

Best,

José
