Scarlatti, Domenico - K162 Sonata - Video

Post by Desperado » Sun Nov 04, 2018 7:41 pm

Got a bit frustrated today, been practising this one for too long. It's quite difficult and I don't have the stamina to play all the way through as my left hand starts to struggle at the end. Oh well, I might have to get the editing gear out next time!

Great stuff, as always. Such a beast, this one, stamina certainly an issue for everyone. Don't reckon I have any helpful comment to make on that, other than be sure you're as relaxed as possible in the slow portions. Of course, you're already doing that, so I'll sit down now!

Anyway, your control in the voicing makes the counterpoint so clear, and nice contrast between the sections. Great energy. Keep fighting the good fight!

Nice Job. Great stuff. Tough piece to pull off as you are so naked. Like playing Mozart on the piano. A wonderful piece though and worth the extra effort. You are getting close. Stay with it and perhaps practice playing it with dotted rhythms to help make it more connected and legato. Same on the trills. Perhaps listen to David Russell on his scarlatti recordings. Stay with it almost there.

Very enjoyable. I love the dissonance here and there.

I could sense the struggle in the last minute, but the last few measures sounded fine to me.

Thanks for that, from Texas.
