:bravo:
What a beautiful piece of music. I've been playing around with this piece, too. But I'm afraid that my interpretation is nothing compared to what you have recorded here. I really liked the little slide that you put in... I think that it gives a feeling of emotion in that phrase that wouldn't be there otherwise.
Thank you for sharing your music with us.
:merci:

Thanks. The harmony is surprisingly classical to my ears, it sounds similar to Greensleaves. I'm familiar with Irish folk and they usually compose their minor songs in the dorian mode (an example that springs to mind is 'is trua nach bhfuil..." by the Bothy Band). Irish folk music would never use this kind of harmonic minor tonality, as far as i know. So I'm thinking maybe this song has more of an English influence than a celtic one. The title btw probably means "young (little) white (pale) Mary", at least that's it looks like in Irish. Bán is 'white', óg is young.

Gentle playing and arrangement. I assume the song has words which I may track down as it has a lovely tune.

That was very nicely done! I appreciated the ethereal feel of drifting through a spring wood on a cool afternoon... :bravo:

///when we pipers play it, it's done with only nine notes (that's all we have)....lol! :chaud:
