Very nice. I don't always like Fisk's playing, but I enjoyed that :)

Likewise. Fisk can be quite uneven, but he has moments that are just sublime, to me.
I wish there were more recordings of this piece, too; I think it's a good one.

Rey De La Torre premiered this piece in 1947 and recorded it beautifully in 1962. The piece and recording are under copyright so on YouTube please search

Yes, Rey De La Torre's LP recording was the first time I heard the piece. My favorite of
those I've heard so far is Marc Regnier's, who studied with De La Torre, I believe.

Hmm... can’t enjoy Fisk even on this one. I don’t know why, but he doesn’t move me at all, ever. Which are the best recordings he did, so i can go and maybe change my mind?

I think that if you don't find beauty in Fisk's variations three through five here, you probably wouldn't
care for the other recordings of his that I'd (strongly) recommend.

In my opinion, Fisk, at his best, reaches peaks that only a couple of other CGists have touched.
YMMV, of course.

Of the few songs I have heard Fisk play, I like this one, by FAR, the most. Of course, since the other ones I have heard really turned me off to him, I have only a limited selection to go by. Still, I certainly like his playing here. :merci:
