Help! I have a cyst

Post by rodrigosadi » Tue Mar 31, 2009 5:58 pm

I have a problem, in which when i start playing a song i dont stop until at least i know it all. i dont have to play it perfectly, but i like to have it learned.
the thing is that i have a cyst on my left wrist, just between my hand and my arm, and when i play for too long i get some very bad aches. Still, i learned how to deal with them.
Only these days i was learning La Catedral by augustin Barrios, and my arm is hurting somewhere it never hurt before: on my wrist, but with the front of my hand facing me. right where my "watch-buckle" is..
Has anyone had this ache before? and if there are any doctors online, i would really appreciate it if they could tell me whether it has anything to do with the cyst i have?

Hi rodrigosadi. Welcome to Delcamp!

There was quite a bit of discussion here a while ago:

Probably the best advice is to see a doctor.

Good luck!

There is a simple procedure to remove the cyst you can talk to your doctor about. He will give you a referral to a specialist. A friend of mine had it done.

Good luck! And remember, if ever it hurts, stop!

I had the same problem and went to a Dr. for it. I was given a shot of steriods in the cyst itself and it was gone within 5 days. It did not hurt and was well worth it.

I once did a procedure in which my doctor stuck in a needle into my cyst, then he pushed in some liquid that made me feel as if it was inflating, then he stuck in another needle and sucked out the liquid from inside the cyst and that made the swelling go away.

but, i've scheduled a meeting at a doctor because the pain has now also gone to my lower arm..

oh. and in response to the hitting the cyst with something heavy.. ouch! im thinking that hurts more than the cyst itself.
