Locked index finger joint

Post by Leonie Kaye » Fri Dec 06, 2013 3:24 am

Hello all
This morning I went into practice my guitar and found that after I had barred a fret my index finger locked and I'm really quite worried about it. I have not injured my finger or hurt it in any way but it is a long while [2 months ] since I have done any serious practice and I have arthritis in my hands hope someone can help.

Stating the obvious...see a doctor, please.

Yes, see a doctor; preferably an orthopedist and ideally a hand specialist.

Thanks for your replies and yes I have made an appointment to see the doctor, It has not been quite so troublesome since I have been back practicing and think because I had stopped playing altogether for a few months it seized up. People with any arthritis will understand this. So "move it or lose it" Thanks again

Sounds like it could be trigger finger. Does it snap back into place when you straighten it? I have this in my pinky on my right hand so it rarely affects my playing
