José Bellido is recognized worldwide as the leading luthier of the Granada school and his guitars are played by some of the greatest artists.
The instrument is hand made, dated and signed.
This guitar displays a true lyrical and Andalusian voice. It is sweet but powerful with firm basses and clear ringing trebles. Openness, depth, clarity, articulation of tone and perfect balance make this one a true concert instrument.
The action is perfect and this guitar is very comfortable with a superb playability.
A few years ago it had been masterly refretted, with new nut and saddle by Stephen Eden.
The guitar is in excellent structural condition with a straight neck and no cracks or other problems whatsoever.
From a cosmetic point of view the lacquer, particularly on the soundboard features some superficial checking (which personally I do not mind at all, on the contrary).
I photographed these in great detail and are definitely much more evident in the photos than in real life (more photos available upon request).
The top could be french polished but in the opinion of mine and others it would be wholly unnecessary.
Also there are some small marks here and there.
I can confirm that these are exclusively cosmetic details typical of an aged instrument.
The guitar is solid, beautiful and plays like a dream as it was confirmed by the London Guitar Studio who had the opportunity to see it a little while ago.
Viewing is most welcome in Central London.
