Bach, J. S. - BWV 1006a Prelude - D10

Post by jrannik » Sat May 10, 2008 3:49 am

Hello all,

I've been playing this piece about two months and would greatly appreciate any feedback. There are plenty of buzzes (I'm no owl!), but I hope you'll forgive me for them.

I recorded this on a 2006 Malapanis (Spruce, cocobolo) that I'm considering buying. Input on the guitar would be welcome too!

I hope you enjoy,
Jaan

Wow! :casque: You sound so happy and enthusiastic that the guitar must really suit you well! It sounds great in the recording, nice balance and clarity with no muddiness. Experimenting with different types of strings should give you lots of different options too.

Beautifully played! Thank you so much!

Great playing, sounds gorgeous. I have to admit though that I am more partial to the trebles on your Traphagen, they seem to have just a bit less overtone/edge than the Malapanis but those are my ears for what it's worth. I'm sure would sound great on any guitar.

Very confidently played. Well done. :merci:
Lean your body forward slightly to support the guitar against your chest, for the poetry of the music should resound in your heart.

Thank you all so much for your kind words! I really appreciate your comments.

I do also like the sound of the guitar in this piece. I wish it had greater sustain in the upper treble ranges though. I agree with Allan that my Traphagen has better sounding and sustaining trebles.

Thanks again, all!

Jaan

Jaan, after listening to your wonderful playing of this piece I've decided to download the score and learn it myself. It is a beautiful piece and how you played it was absolutely marvelous.
