Sor, Fernando - op.35/05 [UPDATE]

Post by Gallagher » Wed Jul 24, 2019 2:07 am

Here's study #5 from Sor Op.35 - very tricky piece in broken third intervals.

I wasn't happy with the way I recorded it yesterday so I tried again this morning and I'm much happier with the result. Please download this new audio file if you downloaded the previous one to hear the difference. I also played the repeats.

I also put in some much needed ritardandos in a few places because IMO the music just doesn't make sense without them. It's a pretty musical piece if you break it up into phrases instead of just playing metronomically.

Very nicely done! This is one of my favorites in Opus 35. Beautiful, and I agree that your phrasing is far superior than playing metronomically!
