What sheet music did you buy last and why?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

There have lately been some discussions on the forum of the Tecla edition of Giuliani's Complete Studies. I have the Sor and refer to it from time to time. So I thought it was time to get hold of the Giuliani. It arrived yesterday. :chitarrista:

Last pieces I got were by Jacques Hetu and I got some Dodgeson.
I mostly just play modern music.

Andrew York 4 in A in 4. I bought it because it is supposed to be easy to play. I read through it and it looks doable, even with my limited skills.

MD Pujol's 'five preludes" Its great music but it will take some time. I like the rhythms and general excitement. It is a far cry from lute playing!

Manuel de Falla-Danzas espanolas arranged for guitar solo by Tilman Hoppstock.
The four transcriptions (El pano moruno, el circulo magico, cancion del fuego fatuo, danza del molinero) are of medium difficulty, good playable.

Can't remember the last time I bought any - I've got enough to last a very long time already.

I did order a book on violin position changing today. I don't know if that counts.

I remember when I was eight years old, I got beat up at school and my mother bought me a violin the next day. She spent a lot of time teaching me how to play it and I eventually did learn to play some pieces. It was my introduction to music or making music. We moved to a new location several years later and parents said I was so handsome, I should learn to play the guitar just like Elvis and I've been playing guitar ever since (but not like Elvis).

I've been inputting some old slides into the computer and I thought you might like this one (1965 Vietnam):

That’s a nice pic of you serving your country. God bless you David. By he way, is there a guitar stashed in the copter somewhere?

I got Waltzing Matilda off of one of the forum member’s websites. So, I didn’t actually buy it. Last one I bought was Andrew York’s 4 in A in 4.

How do you like the Andrew York? I don't have any in my collection and would like something that really pops as a starter... :?:

I would start with “Home” as I think it is beautiful. It’s the one I’m working on right now. Only a page or two into it, but am making progress as I’ve only been working on it for a few days. 4 in A in 4 is easier to read and play. I bought that hoping to teach some to my son this weekend.

Home should “Pop” as a starter. You have to buy it from Mr York’s website. It’s only about ten bucks. And if you can’t download his software to view the pages, send him an email and he will send you a PDF if you request it. He did this for me very personally. It was nice dealing with Andrew York.
