Jack thanks so much. Small world! Great friends!
Grazie Mille! Next, the three of us need to meet in Florence at Andrea Tacchi’s workshop to enjoy a visit, perhaps an esquisite pranzo prepared by Andrea and then playing his or Giovanni’s latest masterpiece!
That's a good idea. Jim can pick up the guitar Giovanni built for him and you and me will just have some fun with playing and enjoying good food.

Will do. It's a very fine guitar. Love it. Fritz promised to build one of his new Torres models for me. 2020 is fixed. Maybe then.

Just a short message on my new pre-owned Fritz Ober maple guitar which is an absolutely stunning instrument. The transparency and separation of notes is incredible on this guitar. I rarely heard my Bach and Scarlatti pieces being played so precise and clear. But as transparency on a guitar can sound a bit brittle and dry - that's not at all the case with this Ober. It is warm and has a great maple glow. Not to forget the profoundness of the basses, stemming from a pitch below F, which adds - particularly when E is dropped to D - a fundamental element to the music. Playing the first cello suite BWV 1007 with this Ober is an overwhelming experience. The guitar conveys a sort of real cello-feeling while playing. I still regret to have sold my first Ober with Brazilian rosewood b & s, built in 2015, which is now actively played in many concerts by the eminent Belgian guitarist Jan Depreter. But this maple Ober delivers some comfort...

So glad you love the guitar. I would agree particularly on the Bach and turned down D and the tone like a beautiful cello.
