Here is my 7-string version for the well-known piece. The 7-string guitar is very nice, because you have more tuning options to experiment with. In this case it is D'-G'-c-f-a-d-f', which is very suitable for the piece. It can be considered as a modified (drop f') renaissance tuning, or a modified (drop G'-c) Baroque tuning, something in between. If you try it, you'll find surprising (or not quite so...) similarities to the normal 6-string fingering. Why? Well, just look at the intervals between the strings.
In spite of the similarities, there are some differences in the fingering, too, and in those places the awkward stretches of the 6-string version can be avoided. The sound will be definitely richer, too, because of the more resonant strings.
