Hi David. That was nicely played and very accurate - though there might be a wrong note at the 24 second mark of the count down to zero. I haven't played it for years, so might be wrong.

But what I'd really want to encourage you to do is bring in some stylistic features, typical of the French baroque, and very much part of de Visée's style. For instance, they very often played two straight quavers (8th notes) as long-short, a sort of dotted rhythm they called "notes inègales". That would transform not just the opening line, but the whole piece. And they very often strummed their chords, just lightly, not bad flamenco style. In other words, even their preludes could sound like a dance.

I won't place here a video I did of his Dm suite, as this thread is about your performance, but if you search YouTube for "Rob MacKillop suite in dm - Part 1" you'll hear what I am talking about.

I hope you don't mind me saying this. It's not criticism, just a thought.
