Soundfonts for Musescore

Post by PeteJ » Wed Jul 25, 2018 12:33 pm

Is it easy to install new sounds into Musescore that will appear as options in the mixer? If so recommendations would be welcome. I find it pretty good for mock-ups but some of the sounds are not up to the job even for this. I could link it it to Kontact or somesuch but I'd rather keep things simple and just improve the onboard options. Thanks.

Yes, download a soundfont and put it in the Soundfonts directory. Add the soundfont in the synthesizer (view, synthesizer) under Fluid. The new sounds are now available in the list, in the order of the soundfonts.

Many thanks Bert. Easier than I expected.
