I'm just catching up here, holidays, and all... I'm working on these exact same pieces and I just noticed, in the Jig, you're missing notes. Sometimes you're only playing 5 notes in a measure, not 6. It's a tough piece, I still can't play it at speed. I hope to upload mine soon, but not yet.
So after today's practice I took what I learned about my left thumb and really tried to keep it behind the next, and the 4th finger on B in La tête bizarde is being fingered correctly more often now! Cool beans...
You play it good my friend. Temto is fast and even.Paul Cezanne wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 8:11 pmHere's 3 of my 4 Lesson 2 videos. I'm having problems with La tête bizarde, I can play it slowly but really only if I look at my left hand. That doesn't seem like a good habit to have. So I'm going to keep on trying.
I know I have my left thumb wrong in this one. That's the great thing about videos, it keeps one honest.
Exercise 20, played twice.
The thumb starts off good on the C-Major scale but moves back to the bad place. I placed it twice because I stumbled and really wanted to hit correctly. I was trying for the dynamics also, but I think I got too loud, made a buzz.
Nice work. You really hit the tempo on bizarde, I'm close you are there! I hear some sympathetic ringing of the thicker strings. My guitar does that also. So I'm laying the bottom of my thumb to stop it. I don't even know if I should or not, but it is something to watch out for.
Sympathetic ringing i dont understand. Do you mean the bass string being buzzz. By the way your bezare is good left hand pefect and beautiful cat.Paul Cezanne wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 10:42 pmNice work. You really hit the tempo on bizarde, I'm close you are there! Nice that you're playing with your fingernails, at least I think you are. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do that, my break all the time.
Thanks about the bezare and cat! I wondered if anyone would notice her... :- )
