New Paul Fischer book: 'Let the Wood Speak'

Post by josswinn » Tue Nov 06, 2018 9:15 am

Paul Fischer has recently published a book about his life and work. It's called 'Let the Wood Speak' and available from Amazon in paperback and on Kindle. Here's the promotional summary:
After 60 years of crafting musical instruments and suffering a major stroke, as part of his recuperation Paul decided to catalogue his life as a luthier in a book entitled 'Let the Wood Speak'. Beginning as an apprentice to the renowned harpsichord maker Robert Goble, followed by military service, he joined and became manager of the David Rubio workshops before establishing his own workshop in 1975. Well over 1000 instruments later and with a world-wide reputation, a luthier's life is the subtitle of 'Let the Wood Speak' by Paul Fischer with David Nickson. A fascinating account of a commitment to this most unusual and rewarding profession.

Anyone know if the book is available anywhere apart from Amazon?

I've taken a pretty good look around, since I don't like [evil] Amazon, but so far have not found it elsewhere.

It’s published through CreateSpace, Amazon’s self-publishing platform.

Thanks Josh. That's a pity.
