not a great introductory post (probably)

Post by nickp » Tue Nov 06, 2018 9:42 am

Morning (in the UK at least)

I've had (the same) a classical guitar since I was about 15 (I'm 53). I have spent many years not actually playing but leaving it in the back of cars and other bad places.

I have been seduced by the dark side (electric) and at the ripe old age of 40 something dusted off the electric guitars and tried to remember how to play resulting in me being in a pub band :)

More recently I've played a short (20 minute) gig of classical/folk tunes - cavatina, romanza, lagrima, anji and a middle eastern dance tune. Currently I'm slowly finishing off Capricho Arabe and a version of autumn leaves.

So I'm still able to play some classical but my set involves a lot of less formal tunes which means that mostly i'm playing a steel acoustic and not the classical - but the classical tunes still are good on the acoustic :)

I have been directed over here by "the fretboard" forum - as a good place for classical but also as I really should be selling my classical as it's getting dusty and I should be buying a better steel acoustic as that's where my heart lies - mixing it all up :)
