Hi from Siracusa - learning to play

Post by lomo » Sat Dec 22, 2018 12:29 am

Hello to every guitar player here, I am Santi, the humblest of the humble players.
I am 55, accountant or bean counter by trade, after a hiatus of almost 40 years I picked up again the guitar, right now I am looking for a teacher in my area (Siracusa, Sicily, Italy).
I do not want to take short roads, I would like to learn from scratch, reading musical notation and solfeggio with the aim to be a player, not a concert or a professional player but a player that knows what he is doing.
I bought Raimumndo Bossa Nova 3 and am doin scale excercises and don't know if I got what in english is called a "lemon" but as much as I like the sound of the guitar it is impossible to keep it in tune for more than 3 minutes.
Being so unexperienced do not know what else to say to introduce myself, I am reading avidly the thousand of posts of all the people in the forum that plays and has been playing for so long and love it.
well, hoping to be welcome I promise not to get in the way of all the professionals who are aroubnd here.
my best regards
to every forum member.
Santi Lo Monaco

Benvenuto! You will not be in the way of anybody. We are all sorts of levels here, and are a pretty open lot. Good luck in finding a new guitar. There are a number of wonderful Italian luthiers working today.
