Mozart, W. A. - K406 Viola Quintet in C minor - 2. Andante

Post by FellowPlayer » Fri Dec 28, 2018 12:36 am

I’m not sure the Andante from Mozart’s Viola Quintet in C minor, K.406 (1787) has been arranged for solo guitar before. I searched for a version of it and came up dry.I tried to develop the key elements of the composition into something that would work on solo guitar.
It may be dry for some compared to the actual work but I enjoyed the challenge all the same.

Cheers

Wow very nice. Mozart's Quintet are exquisit. I like them more than his quartets.
Very good job and nice playing too!
Did you use a piano transcription ( I found one on Imslp )?

thanks for sharing!

:merci: :bye:

I really like your arrangement and playing. There were a few longer notes/pauses that came as a bit of a surprise to me, but those could be due to the change from long held bowed notes to plucked ones.

H Bert. The rests I felt best suited, but are subjective which is perfectly fine.
Thanks for listening and the feedback.

It was moving. I imagine the difficulty exercising the piece and making it sing. Your playing is superb.
Thanks and expect some more posting. :bravo:

Thank you for the kind words. I have original works in the contemporary section... Our recordings of Members' Compositions... if interested.
I appreciate that you understand the challenges to this.

Best, Gary
