Hello from a Scot living in Spain!

Post by RossMoran87 » Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:40 am

Hello, everyone. This is the first time I have joined a forum like this so I'm completely new to this type of experience!

I'm a guitar player and a music lover in general. I recently moved to Spain with my Spanish wife and daughter and I live and work here as an English teacher. I was half way through a music degree at Glasgow University when we had our daughter and due to financial reasons I could no longer continue my university career and subsequently lost touch with playing the guitar too.

Now we're living in Spain and a little more settled the itch to begin where I left off with our beloved instrument has returned but for various reasons (mainly time and my currently low level of the Spanish language) I'm not currently able to seek out a tutor to visit regularly to get me back into shape.

I have been trying to get back into practice here and there but find myself struggling with time, focus and direction. Which is what led me to this forum! I was searching for people who've been in a similar situation and found a thread here with people talking about how they got back into practice and love for playing. So here I am and happy so to be!

In the thread that I found there was one person who said the free online lessons here were what helped them get back on track and I am very excited by that prospect myself. If anyone could shed some light on the structure of the lessons and course and how it works in general I would be most grateful!

So happy to have found what seems to be a great haven for like minded people!

Kind wishes to all,

Ross :D
