Hello from New Hampshire

Post by Joe Dziezanowski » Sun Feb 10, 2019 11:53 pm

Hi there!
My name is Joe and I live in New Hampshire. I have played guitar for over 50 years, mostly folk and rock but not classical. I have also studied and played classical piano on and off during that time, but on piano I’ve never played anything but classical. I mostly listen to classical music (many days just classical guitar or lute) during my day job as a software architect. Truth is I love all music and anything related to music.

Then about 6 years ago, I started building guitars. I’ve made 7 steel strings, 4 electrics and a couple of ukes. I’m actually kinda good at it, I say in a bit of disbelief.

After completing my last guitar, a light bulb went off - I should build a classical guitar AND learn to play it. Well, the first part is underway, and going well so far. Well enough for me to consider what I might attempt to learn first. It was my search for good material that lead me to this forum. Specifically my favorite warm up for piano playing - Bach’s Prelude 1 from WTC. I am so looking forward to that!

So anyway, here I am, and thank you for having me. I look forward to looking around and soaking in what looks to be a fabulous site with awesome members.

Welcome to Delcamp!

If you haven't already, please take a moment to read this page for a good rundown on how the forum works, rules, history, etc. You have found a great source of classical guitar knowledge, as we have a wide assortment of members, from beginners to performing artists, with a number of fine teachers, historians, and luthiers. So feel free to ask any questions you might have, but consider using the search function first, as many topics have already been discussed at length.

If you participate in other online forums, you might notice that things can occasionally get heated. We work hard to keep that from happening on Delcamp. Please read Mssr. Delcamp’s thoughts on the subject.

Please note that there is a requirement to post an average of once a month. Members not meeting this standard may have their memberships terminated.

Adding your location to your profile is a nice touch. Many of us have made new friends from doing just that.

Again, welcome to the forum!
