Beethoven, Ludwig van - Pathetique sonata 2nd movement - Video

Post by markblues » Sat Jun 22, 2019 9:26 am

It has been quite some time since I posted but thought I'd like to share a recent effort at Beethovens 2nd movement of Pathetique sonata.
This was a live recording about a week or so ago after being asked to do a classical concert following on from my jazz gig. I hope you enjoy this effort despite the sound coming directly from the camera. Your comments are most welcome.

I hear there almost spanish tunes in the Music :D , which I think was not Beethovens idea, in particular if you listen to the whole Sonata.
But I like your Approach/interpretation :bravo:. It is not static! I allways think that I should make the effort to transcribe movement 1 + 3 to make it complete… What do you think? :discussion:

Cheers Rich, I think it would be awesome to get the other parts done. Help me out and do that hard bit for me :)

This is the song that got me into music back as a teenager. I just HAD to get good enough at piano to play it! I ended up later getting good enough to play all 3 movements of Pathetique on piano.... then switched to guitar lol. You played it beautifully. Thanks for sharing!

A really enjoyable performance, thx for sharing! Yes, too bad about the sound quality from them the camera, but whatever, still really nice to hear a live performance of a Beethoven work.
