Dowland, John - The Frog Galliard - Video

Post by Matthew McAllister » Fri May 04, 2007 5:12 pm

Hi everyone,

Here is a small gift to all the forum members up here at delcamp.

I have been around the board for quite a while now and many of the forum members have visited my website, purchased albums and even attended concerts!

Way back when I first introduced myself on this forum I think it was Owl who asked me to consider putting up some mp3's, well I hope this is one step better!

I will be recording more movies when I get the time, some of which will appear here and others up at my website. Videos appearing at my site will be above the 8mb upload limit here and therefore audio & video quality will be improved.

I will be making a few 'warm up' videos plus 'technique & tone' videos also.

I hope you enjoy the Dowland, I am a huge fan of his music, I love the purity and melancholy of his music.

Matthew

Hello Matthew,

I first heard you play this on your 'Merula' CD—I was spellbound.

What a pleasure it is to see you play it! Thank you very much for sharing your performance with us.

Best wishes, V :merci:

Thanks Matthew! It's truly an honour to see one of your videos here on Delcamp. Great quality too. And interesting to see a guitar with a 20th fret.

Btw: What is your home recording set-up?

Hi everyone,

Thank you again for all the comments.

I am now hooked on the video medium and I will keep them coming!

There is now a higher quality version of the Dowland up at my website.

Please feel free to pop over and have a look, anyone bringing their comments with them would be appreciated!

I will be uploading some Bach & Granados videos if a few days, and I will also be posting a few technical videos. I will post copies of the videos at my website here at delcamp, the only difference will be the quality of each videos compression as there is an 8mb upload limit here.

Thanks,

Matthew

I'm sitting at the door of the Video area already!

That will be fantastic—have you ever thought about a technical DVD? We could do with something home grown to supplement the DVD materials by Scott Tennant and William Kanengiser.
