This is pretty much as good as it gets on classical guitar. fabulous playing. never heard of Marcos Dias so many thanks for pointing him out.

Thanks for sharing! I just went to his website and bought the Scarlatti transcriptions.

He was originally slated to appear at the CG series here in Portland but was replaced with a different player. Not quite sure why but I was really looking forward to his concert. He interprets Scarlatti so well. Hopefully this upcoming season.

Really,
what an amazing player and such a wonderful tone. Every time I think I've heard the best, another player comes along and proves me wrong.

Yes, that is a surprisingly good sounding Dammann. Many sound rather boxy or hollow to my ears, but this one has remarkable clarity. Not quite spruce, but it's getting there. :wink:

Great player and great transcriptions.
He also transcribed and recorded Bach 6 cello suites. I've been playing his transcription of suite 3, which uses the nice sounding scordatura of 5th in G and 6th in D. His transcription has detailed fingerings, including RH, and they are great and well thought. Most fingerings I've changed when studying the piece, I ended up going back to his choices...
